Photography success today
The hardest thing about Nanny Blooms is the photography. I am not a good photographer, but with a little education and trial and error, I can learn. Today there was much succes with taking some new pics and organizing some I already had of my blooms.
I am busy making things for upcoming craft shows.

Litle Bloom shop update
This week I had the pleasure sharing blooms with some friends daughters. They were so cute searching fot the blooms they wanted for themselves. I am gettting excited about doing some craft fairs this fall and watching ladies decide which bloom is for them or their daughter. I finally have some just hair clip blooms that are so cute. I thought I had plenty made but already I see I need to make more before the shows get here. The picture shows full, but after 2 shoppers it is no longer full.
I also have available special covered clips for itty bitty girls and head bands to clip them on for baby girls. Below is a baby headband boxed in a special bloom box for a gift.
All the parts of this little bloom business have been a fun and refreshing new thing to figure out.
From packaging to display to making them, and finding resources for all of the above, I must say thank heavens for the internet and friends who are marketing savy.
Looking forward to setting up Nanny Bloom shop at several fairs this fall.

The best thing about sharing blooms
The best thing about sharing my Nanny Blooms is the excited look (like a kid in a candy store), and then the trying to decide which one to get. Girls of all ages love pretty fun stuff. It makes me happy to share them. Sometimes I am the same way, when I pull them all out I want to keep them, or I see someone wearing one and I wish I had it back. Funny thing is, I could make another exactly the same almost. I just never do. I have only made 2 identical blooms. One belongs to a sweet Bible study friend and 1 to my sister.
Right now I am preparing for some fall craft fairs and am working on some spirit blooms for the local high school colors. Even spirit blooms are unique. A new fun adventure for the bloom maker as well.
This weekend the pre-4th of July weekend I get to share a bloom with my neighbor at the lake, and I finally finished and gave my daughter her coveted bloom for her hair. It makes me happy to share them. May Nanny Blooms bring a smile to your face, whether browsing on FB through them, or having one of your own. My wish is for them to make you as happy as they make me creating them.

Choices......
Planning how to share my blooms has been quite a delima, there are so many options. If you are a small hand made business intrepeneur, you can sell all online, sell through craft fairs, bazaars and in home parties, or wholesale and consignment sell to shops. My goodness I never realized there would be so many choices.
Not only do you have choices for how to sell you have choices for how to take payments. We are all familiar by now with paypal, but did you know you don't have to have a paypal account to pay through paypal. Now there is also this cool method called square up, and you attach a little credit card taker to your i phone or i pad and you become a store, right where you are. AMAZING! You can also just take cash and check as was the way in the "olden days". While modern technology is great it makes for alot of CHOICES.
I am reading and digesting all this information and planning a great Fall for NANNY BLOOMS. Of course, I am doing all this at my favorite place our lake house;) I can clear my head of my "need to do's at home" and digest all this information better. Looking forward to a grand opening for my little flower shop before too much longer.

THURSDAY THOUGHTS
Your thoughts.....my thoughts.....
Only going to work if some of you comment on my blooms. My thought comes from my daughter. She is a bargain girl, and loves the sight www.PickYourPlum.com. If you sign up for their daily deal you will get an email of the days deal in the morning. She got some strands of pearls and look what she has done with them. Add a bloom and you have a beautiful custom piece of jewlery. She is always coming up with new ways to wear her blooms, so I am sure we will see more.
Pick your plum has had some great deals on all sorts of things. The biggest problem is their stuff goes quickly so you have to act fast.
My second thought has to do with making a keepsake from something sentimental.... use a Nanny bloom to make something special. On the bouquet I did for my daughters wedding, I added many keepsakes sentimental to my heritage, a giant sparkley button worn on a jacket that my grandmother had, some crocheted lace made by my great aunt, and a little gold butterfly that my dad brought me when he traveled to Venzuela for work long ago.
Now I am working on 2 special burlap, lace and beige blooms that will have a watch face on each, from a beloved mother. Turning something old into something new. I can't wait to be able to share these with you..... they are a work in progress.
Do you have a treasure you want to be able to use? A Nanny Bloom may be just the thing to make it special.

Nanny Blooms are out!!!!!
Schools out, and top on my priority, before I get cold feet, was to get some marketing strategy's for selling my Nanny Blooms. I had some ideas in my head, but had asked a few people to give me advice as I begin the real road of my new little flower shop business. Today was the first of the meetings and I am so excited with more ideas than I had before. I wanted to have a few little boutiques throughout my area and east to carry my blooms so that I could travel around and restock and visit sweet people. Today is a milestone because now they are in a shop in Van Alstyne Texas called Abby Lane. The owner Shannon Morgan is a friend who's children are grown (almost) but were in our preschool when I directed the program (years ago). What a special time to visit with her and here about her kids, see her shop, pick her brain on my blooms, and have her be the first to stock some of my flowers. It is an exciting day. God is so good to give us the desires of our hearts, this little bloom business is a desire that has sprung up over the last year, but really over the course of my crafty little life. I love making the flowers, but most of all I love seeing the look on peoples faces when they look at them in person and touch them and enjoy them. Thank you God today for this blessing and may it honor you and bring glory to you as I make and share each one.
Well, with that, the blog bloom page looks empty now, but my creative little brain is flowing, keep your eyes peeled for two things more blooms, and a website for on line buyers. I am hoping to be up by the first of July, and I know the time is going by fast.
Speaking of July Red white and blue blooms are SO cute on hats. Email me if you would like a 4th of July bloom.

ZINNIAS, SUNFLOWERS, DAFFODILES
Well I have been busy with school more than busy blooming but, I have made a few that I can finally post. The puffy blooms remind me so much of zinnias especially when they are the really bright colors, though a good friend suggested they reminded her of dahlias. I guess here in Texas I have seen more zinnias than dahlias. Either way, they are fun.

It's almost time to see the fun sunflowers in the summer
Daffodils are through for the year but here is my summer imitation. Using fabric brings a lightness, and extra dimension of fun. The fabric puff on top brings more dimension to the flower.
Flower making is fun!!!!! Felt, Fabric, Buttons, Hot glue, needle and thread is all you need to create your own imitation of your favorite bloom. Better yet, let me do it for you!

RED, WHTIE AND BLUE
Lot's of reasons for patriotism, MEMORIAL DAY, 4TH OF JULY are a couple. It seems to me summer screams american flags and red white and blue. Just take a peak in your nearest craft store. They are all stocked, and Nanny blooms is working on it. Take a peak at the stars of red, white and blue

All different sizes and these are just the beginning of the summer blooms.
